As we prepare to welcome our students back on Thursday, August 13, we want to share an important update regarding our school meal programs for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
Due to state and federal guideline changes beyond our school's control, Meyer High School will be transitioning from our previous all-inclusive meal program (CEP) to the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program.
What This Means for Meyer High School Families (Grades 9–12)
Starting this school year, meals at Meyer High School will be priced as follows:
-
Breakfast: This will remain free for all students
-
Free Lunch: $0.00 for qualifying households.
-
Reduced-Price Meals: $0.40 per meal for qualifying households.
-
Paid Meals: $4 per meal for families who do not qualify for free or reduced-price status.
Rapoport Primary, Rapoport Elementary, and Quinn Middle School (Pre-K through 8th grade) will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Breakfast and lunch will remain free for all Pre-K–8th grade students without needing an application.
How to Apply for Meal Benefits
Beginning at Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 11, families can get applications at the Meyer High School front office to apply for eligibility.
1. Automatic Qualification (No Application Needed)
Some families automatically qualify (for example, through SNAP, TANF, FDPIR, or specific programs like foster care, Head Start, or migrant/displaced status). Our team is working directly with local agencies to identify these students. If your family automatically qualifies, we will send you a confirmation letter—you do not need to fill out an application.
2. Standard Income Qualification (Application Required)
If you do not receive an automatic qualification letter but fall within the income guidelines, we strongly encourage you to fill out an application. To complete the form, an adult household member will need to provide:
- Names of all household members.
- Amount, frequency, and source of current income for each member.
- Last 4 digits of the adult member's Social Security number (or check the box indicating "No SSN").
- An adult signature.
