Board Briefing: November 2025

The board held a regular meeting and concluded their strategic planning session in November 2025, focusing on district celebrations, financial oversight, and student/family support initiatives.

Celebrations & Consent Agenda
The meeting kicked off with several moments of pride for our RAPS community, immediately followed by the approval of regular district business items:
  • Celebrations: We recognized Karen Davila with the "Every Raven, Every Day" award and highlighted the success of the Art Club's Dia de los Muertos parade float and the Barnes & Noble Fundraiser. We also shared great news about staff leadership, including Barbara Page's acceptance into a prestigious leadership program.
  • Business Approvals: The Board approved the consent agenda, which included the October meeting minutes, Financials, and Enrollment reports.
  • Athletic Funding: The Board approved a plan for spending the revenue generated from Raven Court ticket sales, which helps cover staff, security, and travel costs for our athletic programs.

Supporting Our Students & Families

The Board discussed ways to continue offering strong support across the district:
  • Financial Excellence: We are pleased to announce that RAPS achieved a perfect score on the state's 2024-2025 financial rating!
  • New Financial Partner: To maintain strong financial leadership while we search for a permanent Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Board approved hiring YYY Financial Advisors, a team specializing in supporting charter schools.
  • Family Concerns: The Board discussed how the district can better support our immigrant families, and we are looking into adopting resolutions to support all RAPS families.
  • Planning Ahead: Our District Improvement Committee reviewed the first draft of the 2026-2027 School Calendar, which will soon be shared with all staff for feedback.
