Recognitions & Celebrations:

  • Recognized board members with expiring terms for their service.
  • Celebrated the Middle School Girls Soccer Team's recent district championship.
  • Announced and celebrated the Teachers and Staff of the Year from each campus.
  • Highlighted and congratulated J. McCray, our published student author.
Approvals:
  • Approved consent agenda items:
    • Meeting minutes, financial reports, and enrollment reports.
    • Expense requests for cameras and vape sensors at Raven Court.
    • Adjustment of access control for the vestibule at Quinn Campus.
    • Replacement water fountains for Quinn Campus and DCAC.
    • Summer facilities updates and related projects.
    • Summer workdays for specific projects and onboarding new staff.
  • Approved the Year 3 TSL (Texas Science Leadership) proposal.
Reports & Discussions:
  • Received an update on the progress of the Raven Court history wall.
  • Heard an update on the Athletics program, including recognition of the board's support for the basketball team.
  • Received an update from the Technology Department.
  • Reviewed hiring updates for the district.
  • Reviewed a training/strategic plan proposal for Region 12 (R12).
  • Jennifer Whitlark presented a detailed report from the Religious Text Committee, including:
    • Number of lessons reviewed.
    • Number of lessons with identified religious references.
    • Breakdown of lessons upheld, edited, or removed.
    • Discussion focused on the board's desire for historical accuracy, factual information, and balance.
  • Presentation of a document summarizing categorical information and actions related to the recent faculty representative report on incentives.
Announcements:
  • Welcoming a new parent representative at the June board meeting.
