School Counseling Week: Ami Andrade

This week is National School Counseling Week and we want to celebrate the outstanding school counselors who work with the students in our district.

Today, we're highlighting our Secondary College and Career Counselor, Ami Andrade. Mrs. Andrade works closely with our secondary students especially high schoolers, dual credit students, and seniors to help them reach their goals and complete their graduation requirements.

Here is what others say about Mrs. Andrade:
🧡"Mrs. Andrade is amazing for our high school students. She has worked closely with my daughter over the years to not only provide her with advising on her schedule but has gone out of her way to walk alongside her even through tough conversations. I am thankful for the time that Mrs. Andrade takes with students. Her impact is huge and this parent is super thankful for her!"
-Jennifer Whitlark, HS Parent

🧡"Mrs. Andrade works tirelessly to advise students into their desired pathway to open up opportunities for what they want to do after high school. She balances that with college course requests that differ between students based on what degree they're hoping to achieve and what college they're going to attend. Balancing all of those factors is a giant puzzle of things to remember and plan for because every plan has to be different. Mrs. Andrade gets to know students well and they clearly trust her to have their best interests at heart."
-Shasta Sneed, Dean of Academics

🧡"Ami shows great dedication to students not only in helping them with college and career planning, but now with soccer. She truly exemplifies the core value of Hard Work. Thank you, Ami!"
